A distressed man climbed an 80-foot mobile tower after his wife left home, drawing attention from local authorities.
A man in an unnamed Indian locality ascended an 80-foot mobile communication tower on Tuesday, citing personal distress after his wife left their home. Witnesses reported that the individual, appearing agitated, began climbing the structure in the early afternoon, prompting onlookers to call emergency services.
Police and municipal workers arrived at the scene within minutes and initiated negotiations to persuade the man to descend safely. The tower, which serves a regional telecom network, was temporarily shut down to prevent any service disruption.
No injuries were reported among bystanders, and the man was taken into custody after he voluntarily came down following the authorities' intervention. The incident is under investigation for possible violations of public safety regulations.
The telecom provider has confirmed that services were restored shortly after the tower was secured, and it is reviewing its security protocols to deter similar incidents in the future.
