Maharashtra Women’s Commission orders faster probe into Shilpa Gaware’s death

The Maharashtra Women’s Commission has formally directed the police in Pimpri‑Chinchwad to speed up the investigation into the recent death of Shilpa Gaware. The commission, which monitors women’s safety and rights across the state, said the case requires urgent attention.

In its directive, the commission urged the police to prioritize forensic analysis, interview witnesses promptly and keep the family informed of progress. It emphasized that delays could undermine public confidence in law‑enforcement agencies handling cases involving women.

Police officials acknowledged the commission’s order and indicated that additional resources would be allocated to the case. They pledged to submit a detailed progress report to the commission within the stipulated timeframe, aiming to bring clarity to the circumstances surrounding Gaware’s death.
