The Maharashtra government will pilot an artificial‑intelligence based job portal in Mumbai and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar to streamline recruitment for local employers and job‑seekers.

The state government of Maharashtra announced a pilot project for an artificial‑intelligence driven job platform that will initially operate in Mumbai and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. The platform is designed to use machine‑learning algorithms to match candidates’ skills and experience with vacancies posted by local businesses, aiming to reduce the time and effort involved in traditional recruitment.

The pilot will be rolled out in two major urban centres, targeting sectors that have reported high vacancy rates, such as information technology, manufacturing, and services. The initiative is being developed in collaboration with technology partners who will provide the AI infrastructure and data analytics support.

Officials said the system will continuously learn from user interactions, improving match accuracy over time. By offering a centralized, data‑rich portal, the government hopes to increase employment opportunities for job‑seekers while giving employers access to a broader, more relevant talent pool.

The pilot is slated to begin in the coming weeks, with a review after three months to assess performance and consider expansion to other districts across the state.
