Maharashtra resolves Aadhaar‑RC name mismatch, easing RTO woes for transporters

The state government has cleared the Aadhaar‑RC name mismatch that was stalling vehicle registrations, giving transport operators relief from Regional Transport Office delays.
The Maharashtra Transport Department announced that the long‑standing mismatch between Aadhaar details and vehicle registration certificates (RC) has been corrected. The discrepancy had caused many transporters to face rejections at Regional Transport Offices, delaying permits and renewals.
Authorities said the issue was resolved after a joint effort with the UIDAI, which updated the database to ensure name consistency across both documents. Transport operators are now able to submit applications without the previous verification hurdles.
Industry representatives welcomed the move, noting that smoother processing will help maintain logistics schedules and reduce operational costs for fleets operating across the state.
