The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration has mandated stricter enforcement of existing laws governing infant formula, baby food, and feeding bottles.
The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) today issued an order to enforce stricter compliance with the state’s laws on infant formula, baby food and feeding bottles.
Under the directive, the FDA will intensify inspections and ensure that manufacturers and distributors adhere to the safety and labeling standards set by the state.
The move covers all products marketed for infants and young children, including powdered and ready‑to‑eat baby foods, as well as feeding bottles and related accessories.
Officials say the tighter enforcement is aimed at safeguarding infant health and preventing the sale of sub‑standard or non‑compliant products.
