Ujjain's Mahakaleshwar Temple hosted its daily bhavsm aarti early this morning, drawing a large gathering of worshippers. The ritual, a central part of the temple's schedule, was conducted with the usual chants and offerings.
During the ceremony, priests performed a special shringar of the deity, placing bhang, a silver crown and a mundmala around the idol. Additional symbols such as the trishul, tripund and the trinetra were also applied, creating a vivid divine tableau.
The elaborate adornment attracted thousands of devotees who lined the temple courtyard to catch a glimpse of the embellished form of Baba Mahakal. Many expressed reverence for the visual splendor and the auspiciousness associated with the ritual.
Temple authorities confirmed that the decorations are part of traditional observances meant to honor the deity during the bhavsm aarti, and no extraordinary incidents were reported.
