The state tourism department has urged visitors to experience the diverse attractions of Madhya Pradesh beyond the popular Khajuraho temples and Bandhavgarh National Park.
Madhya Pradesh, famed for its iconic Khajuraho temples and the wildlife haven of Bandhavgarh National Park, has issued a call to tourists to look beyond these well‑known sites.
In a statement released by the state tourism department, officials highlighted that the central region of the state hosts a wealth of cultural, historical and natural attractions that remain under‑visited. Sites such as the ancient Sanchi Stupa, the hill station of Pachmarhi, and the historic town of Mandu are among those the department hopes will draw more attention.
The department emphasized that exploring these lesser‑known destinations offers visitors a richer experience of the state's heritage, local cuisine and biodiversity. It urged travelers to engage with local communities, visit heritage villages and participate in cultural festivals.
To support this initiative, the tourism board announced plans to launch targeted marketing campaigns and improve infrastructure around these emerging sites, aiming to distribute tourist footfall more evenly across the state.
