Teachers assembled in Bhopal announced a boycott of the Teacher Eligibility Test, questioning the need for a re‑exam after years of service and urging the government to restore the previous pension scheme.

In Bhopal, educators from various districts of Madhya Pradesh converged to voice their dissent against the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET). The gathering, described as a statewide teachers' rally, saw participants pledge not to appear for the upcoming examination.

The teachers argued that requiring a re‑examination after years of uninterrupted service undermines their professional experience and morale. They emphasized that the current policy forces seasoned educators to undergo a test that they have already cleared earlier in their careers.

Beyond the boycott, the demonstrators called for the reinstatement of the former pension scheme, citing that members of parliament and state legislators continue to enjoy the older benefits. The demand seeks parity in pension provisions for teachers, who contend that their contributions merit similar treatment.
