STF detained Sheru Paradi, a Katni resident, while he was preparing for a tiger hunt in Biyohari forest, uncovering links to an international wildlife smuggling ring.
The Special Task Force (STF) of Madhya Pradesh apprehended Sheru Paradi, a resident of Katni, as he was setting up for a tiger hunt inside the Biyohari forest. The operation was carried out after intelligence inputs indicated illegal poaching activity in the area.
Alongside Paradi, a woman identified as Binouri Bai was also taken into custody. Both were found to be part of a coordinated effort to capture tigers and other wildlife.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that Paradi maintains connections with a criminal network that hunts tigers and ships the carcasses and parts abroad. The syndicate is believed to be involved in the illegal wildlife trade that supplies international markets.
STF officials said the arrest is a significant step in curbing poaching in Madhya Pradesh and that further actions will target the broader smuggling chain.
