After the Madhya Pradesh High Court reduced OBC reservation from 27% to 14%, Parshuram Seva Sangh state chief Sunil Pandey called for upper‑caste unity and warned of political protests against the government and Congress.

The Madhya Pradesh High Court has ordered a reduction of the Other Backward Classes (OBC) reservation quota from 27 percent to 14 percent, a decision that has drawn swift reaction from community organisations.

Sunil Pandey, the state president of the Parshuram Seva Sangh, a body representing upper‑caste interests, said the verdict threatens the balance of affirmative‑action policies. He urged the broader upper‑caste community to stand together and oppose the move.

Pandey also warned that the organization would launch a political protest against the state government and the Indian National Congress, which he described as opposing the interests of the forward castes.

The announcement comes ahead of the upcoming Uttar Pradesh elections, raising concerns that the issue could become a rallying point for caste‑based political mobilisation in the region.

Authorities have not yet responded to the protest threat, and the matter is expected to be closely watched by political analysts and civil‑society groups.
