The monsoon season in Madhya Pradesh concluded with total rainfall 4% below the long‑term average. Sunny and hot weather will dominate until early October, after which light rain is forecast for the eastern districts.

Madhya Pradesh’s monsoon season wrapped up with a cumulative 35.8 inches of rain, registering roughly four percent less than the climatological norm for the period. The deficit was most pronounced in the western part of the state, while the eastern districts recorded higher-than‑average precipitation.

The state’s meteorological department has warned that the next few days, from October 4 to October 6, will be dominated by clear skies and rising temperatures. Residents are advised to stay hydrated and take precautions against heat‑related illnesses.

From October 7 onward, the forecast shifts to a modest chance of showers over the eastern districts, offering some relief after the dry spell. Overall, the season’s shortfall is expected to have limited impact on agriculture, but officials will monitor soil moisture levels closely as the post‑monsoon period progresses.
