The Madhya Pradesh State Legal Services Authority has inaugurated the Surakshit Bachpan Abhiyan, a statewide initiative aimed at safeguarding children.
The Madhya Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (SLSA) officially rolled out the Surakshit Bachpan Abhiyan across the state, marking a concerted effort to strengthen child protection mechanisms. The launch, announced by the authority’s chief, underscores the government's commitment to creating a safer environment for minors.
The campaign is designed to raise awareness about child rights, provide legal assistance to victims of abuse, and coordinate with local NGOs, schools and law enforcement agencies. It will also promote the use of existing helplines and legal aid services to ensure timely intervention in cases of child exploitation or neglect.
Officials said the initiative aligns with national child welfare policies and aims to reduce incidents of abuse through preventive education and swift legal recourse. By mobilising resources at the district level, the SLSA hopes to make legal support more accessible to vulnerable children and their families.
Stakeholders, including child rights activists and community leaders, have welcomed the program, noting that a focused, state‑wide approach can bridge gaps in existing protection frameworks and foster a culture of vigilance and responsibility.
