The state’s new high‑tech Challenger 3500 aircraft landed in Bhopal on Tuesday, with a ₹268 crore insurance proposal and an estimated 1.5‑month preparation period before regular service.
The Madhya Pradesh government’s latest high‑technology aircraft, a Bombardier Challenger 3500, touched down at Bhopal’s airport on Tuesday. The jet is expected to become part of the official fleet used for the chief minister’s travel and other state duties.
The aircraft comes with an insurance cover valued at roughly ₹268 crore, reflecting its premium specifications and the government’s investment in modernising its air transport capabilities. Officials highlighted the jet’s advanced avionics, fuel efficiency and comfort features as a significant upgrade over older government planes.
Authorities estimate that the jet will require about one and a half months of certification, crew training and technical checks before it can commence regular operations. Once cleared, the Challenger 3500 will join the state’s roster of government aircraft, enhancing connectivity for official engagements across the region.
