Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced a Rs 3,800 crore Macon Food processing unit in Agar‑Malwa, projected to create around 2,000 jobs.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that a Macon Food processing complex worth Rs 3,800 crore will be set up in the Agar‑Malwa region of Madhya Pradesh. The announcement was made during a press conference in Bhopal, highlighting the state’s focus on agro‑industrial growth.
The project is expected to generate roughly 2,000 direct jobs, with additional indirect employment in ancillary services and supply chains. Local officials anticipate that the new facility will boost income for farmers supplying raw material and stimulate related small‑scale enterprises.
Construction is slated to begin later this year, with the plant expected to become operational within two years. The state government has pledged land, infrastructure support and tax incentives to ensure timely completion.
If realised, the Macon Food unit will position Madhya Pradesh as a key hub for processed food manufacturing in central India, aligning with broader economic development plans announced by the CM’s office.
