Commissioner Sandeep G.R. sat with children at a Sehore Anganwadi centre, directly asking about the taste and quality of breakfast and hot cooked meals.
Madhya Pradesh's Women and Child Development Commissioner, Sandeep G.R., made an on‑ground visit to an Anganwadi centre in Sehore district on Wednesday. Instead of a formal inspection, he chose to sit on the floor among the children to observe the daily routine.
During the informal session, the commissioner asked the children how they perceived the taste and quality of the breakfast served, as well as the hot cooked meals provided later in the day. Their responses were recorded as part of a broader effort to assess the effectiveness of the Anganwadi nutrition scheme.
The feedback gathered will be forwarded to the state department for possible improvements in meal preparation and delivery, aiming to enhance the nutritional outcomes for children enrolled in the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) program.
Officials said such grassroots interactions are intended to bridge gaps between policy and practice, ensuring that the services reach beneficiaries as intended.
