The Madhya Pradesh cabinet approved development schemes worth ₹24,500 crore, covering road, health, irrigation and education sectors, and announced a 20% reservation for firefighters in five uniformed services.
Bhopal – In a full‑session meeting, the Madhya Pradesh cabinet gave its nod to a package of development projects amounting to ₹24,500 crore. The approved schemes span major infrastructure and social sectors, including the construction of the Damoh‑Katni road, expansion of health facilities, irrigation upgrades and the rollout of new education initiatives.
The cabinet also resolved to reserve 20% of recruitment vacancies in five uniformed services for firefighters, a move aimed at enhancing representation and career prospects for the state's fire‑service personnel.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan highlighted that the combined investment is expected to generate significant employment and improve public services across the state. Implementation will be overseen by the respective departmental heads, with funds to be released in phases over the next fiscal year.
