Pratima met Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia in Tripura, pressing for organized agricultural markets and better telecom services in the state’s remote areas.
In a meeting held in Tripura, local activist Pratima raised concerns with Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia about the lack of structured agricultural markets in the state’s remote districts. She highlighted that farmers are forced to sell produce at unregulated rates, limiting their income and market access.
Pratima also pointed out that inadequate telecom infrastructure hampers real‑time price information and digital services for the agrarian community. The minister acknowledged the challenges and said the central government is reviewing schemes to upgrade market facilities and expand broadband connectivity in underserved regions.
Both parties agreed that swift action is needed to boost agricultural productivity and integrate remote farmers into national supply chains, with a view to improving livelihoods across Tripura’s hinterland.
