According to eyewitnesses, a group of unidentified men approached the contractor's premises, opened fire and fled the scene. The assailants left behind a chaotic aftermath, and authorities believe the motive was robbery, as the victim's cash and stock were reported missing.
Punjab police arrived promptly, cordoned off the area and launched an investigation. No arrests have been made so far, and investigators are canvassing the neighbourhood for additional witnesses and CCTV footage.
