A one‑day legal aid camp was organised in Lakhnaur, Punjab, drawing a sizable crowd of local residents. Legal professionals and volunteers from the district bar association set up information booths and conducted short sessions on basic civil, criminal and family law matters.
Attendees received guidance on how to file complaints, obtain free legal counsel, and access government schemes for legal aid. The organizers also distributed pamphlets in Hindi and Punjabi outlining the steps to approach courts and the role of legal aid cells.
The event, supported by the Punjab State Legal Services Authority, aims to bridge the gap between the judiciary and marginalized sections of society, ensuring that citizens are better equipped to defend their rights.
Officials said similar camps will be held in other towns to expand outreach and encourage a more informed populace.
