A political figure announced readiness to fight the upcoming state assembly polls, provided the Indian National Congress grants him a ticket, The Sangai Express reported.
A senior political figure has publicly stated that he is prepared to contest the forthcoming state assembly elections if the Indian National Congress offers him a candidature, according to a report by The Sangai Express. The declaration was made during a local gathering, where the leader emphasized his commitment to the party's cause and the electorate.
The upcoming assembly polls are expected to be closely contested across several states, with party tickets being a critical factor for aspirants. By signalling his willingness to run only with a Congress ticket, the leader underscores the importance of official party endorsement in securing electoral viability.
Political analysts note that such statements can influence internal party dynamics, as the Congress leadership balances candidate selection with electoral strategy. The leader's condition reflects a broader trend of politicians seeking clear party backing before committing to electoral battles.
The Sangai Express did not disclose the individual's name or the specific state where the statement was made, focusing solely on the expressed intent to join the Congress ticket pool for the assembly contest.
