The land acquisition process for the 201.37 km long fourth railway line between Katni and Pendra Road in Madhya Pradesh is set to commence shortly. Officials have been assigned responsibility for the project estimated at ₹2,975 crore.
The railway ministry has announced that the process to acquire land for the proposed fourth line on the Katni-Pendra Road section will start in the near future. This new line will run parallel to the existing tracks over a distance of 201.37 kilometres.
The project, valued at approximately ₹2,975 crore, aims to enhance freight and passenger capacity on this important corridor connecting Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Officials from the railway division have been given clear responsibility for overseeing the land acquisition and subsequent construction phases.
Authorities say that once the land is secured, tendering for construction work will follow. The initiative is part of broader efforts to decongest the existing rail network and improve logistics efficiency in the region.
