A 36-year‑old laborer from Paranama village was beaten with sticks after a minor dispute and died early Sunday at Biharsharif District Hospital.
Nalanda district police officials reported that Samant Manjhi, a 36‑year‑old daily‑wage worker from Paranama village in the Sarmera police‑station area, was involved in a trivial argument on Saturday. The dispute escalated when he was attacked with sticks and suffered severe injuries.
Manjhi was rushed to Biharsharif District Hospital in critical condition. Medical staff attempted emergency treatment, but his condition deteriorated overnight.
He was pronounced dead early Sunday morning. Local authorities have opened a criminal investigation into the assault, and police are seeking witnesses to identify those responsible for the fatal beating.
