Minister L Murugan has tendered his resignation, prompting speculation that the Union Cabinet may undergo a reshuffle.
Minister L Murugan, who has been serving as the Union Minister for Rural Development, submitted his resignation letter to the Prime Minister on Tuesday. The move came after a series of controversies surrounding his department’s handling of rural infrastructure projects.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi accepted the resignation but stated that it would be considered in the broader context of the government's performance. No immediate announcement of a replacement has been made.
Political analysts suggest that Murugan’s resignation could trigger a cabinet reshuffle, as the government seeks to maintain stability and public confidence ahead of upcoming elections.
Observers are watching closely to see whether the resignation will lead to a broader reconfiguration of ministerial portfolios or remain an isolated incident.
