During the session, Gargaj listened to the families’ accounts of the violence and the long‑standing challenges they face, including issues related to compensation and memorial recognition. He emphasized the need for a coordinated effort to address these concerns.
The meeting also served as a platform for the families to voice their demands for official acknowledgment and support from local authorities. Gargaj pledged to advocate on their behalf and to keep the conversation active in the civic sphere.
While the discussion was largely focused on the past, participants agreed that continued dialogue and institutional action are essential for healing and justice. The next steps will involve formal submissions to the municipal council and outreach to state-level officials.
