Krowti Bridge Over Lohit River in Arunachal Pradesh Closed Indefinitely Over Safety Concerns

The Krowti Bridge, which carries traffic across the Lohit River in Arunachal Pradesh, was closed to all vehicles and pedestrians on Thursday.

Officials cited safety concerns after a routine inspection revealed structural weaknesses that could jeopardise the bridge’s integrity.

The closure has disrupted local transport, forcing commuters to take longer detours via nearby villages.

Arunachal Pradesh’s Public Works Department has announced that a detailed safety audit will be carried out before any decision to reopen the bridge is made.
