The Kota police have deployed nine six‑member teams under ‘Operation Hawk’ to monitor coaching zones, hotels and lodges, aiming to curb rising knife attacks and crimes involving sharp weapons.
Kota police announced the start of ‘Operation Hawk’ as a focused response to the surge in knife‑related incidents and offenses involving sharp weapons across the city. The initiative targets areas where such crimes have been reported most frequently, including coaching hubs, hotels and lodges.
Nine teams, each comprising six police officers, have been formed to patrol and monitor the identified zones round the clock. The teams will coordinate with local authorities and use surveillance measures to detect and deter any unlawful use of knives or other edged tools.
Police officials said the operation is intended to create a visible deterrent, reassure residents and visitors, and restore safety in the city’s high‑traffic areas. The deployment will continue until a noticeable decline in related offenses is recorded.
