The creator of a popular Korean webtoon says the series is attracting a growing readership in India and aims to broaden its reach worldwide.
In a recent interview, the author of a Korean webtoon highlighted a surge in Indian readers, noting that the digital comic platform has seen a noticeable uptick in subscriptions and social media engagement from the subcontinent. The creator attributed this interest to localized translations and the growing popularity of mobile comics among young Indian audiences.
The interview also revealed plans to expand the webtoon’s availability beyond South Korea, with the creator seeking partnerships with Indian streaming and publishing partners to deliver content in regional languages. The goal, according to the interview, is to establish a truly global fan base that can access the series across multiple platforms.
Industry analysts see this move as part of a broader trend where Asian digital entertainment formats are seeking footholds in India's fast‑growing online market, potentially opening new revenue streams for creators and platforms alike.
