Anand Dubey, the prominent Hindi‑speaking face of Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena (UBT), has quit the party, dealing a setback to the leader.
Anand Dubey, a senior leader known for his Hindi outreach within Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena (UBT), announced his resignation from the party on Wednesday. The decision was communicated through a brief statement posted on his social media account, where he cited personal reasons for stepping down.
Dubey has been instrumental in expanding the party's appeal among Hindi‑speaking voters in Maharashtra, often serving as the party's spokesperson in Hindi media. His departure removes a key bridge between the regional outfit and the broader Hindi‑speaking electorate.
The Shiv Sena (UBT) has not released an official comment on the resignation, and party officials have not indicated any immediate plans to fill the vacancy. Political analysts suggest that the move could affect the party's outreach strategy ahead of upcoming local elections.
Observers note that while the resignation is a blow to Thackeray’s inner circle, the party’s core leadership remains intact, and it may seek other senior figures to maintain its Hindi‑language engagement.
