In the 2026‑27 Ranji Trophy, Kerala could not secure a first‑innings lead as Jharkhand, powered by Abhishek’s hundred, took control of the game.
The Group C encounter of the 2026‑27 Ranji Trophy saw Jharkhand face Kerala at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, with both sides looking to build momentum early in the season. Jharkhand’s top order got off to a solid start, but it was Abhishek’s patient 112 that anchored their innings and set a challenging total.
Kerala’s chase began cautiously, but the side struggled to string together partnerships, losing wickets at regular intervals. Despite a brief resistance from the middle order, the team could not overcome the deficit and fell short of taking a first‑innings lead.
The result leaves Jharkhand in a favorable position in the group, while Kerala will need to regroup ahead of its next fixture, aiming to convert starts into substantial scores.
