A fraud case has emerged from Dhimarkheda village in Katni district, where two individuals promised villagers that they could obtain official lease documents for government-owned land. Following complaints, the tehsildar of Katni initiated a verification of the alleged scheme. His inquiry uncovered inconsistencies that pointed to a deliberate deception, prompting the tehsildar to forward the matter to the district police.
The police have now registered a formal FIR against the two accused, naming them as the primary perpetrators of the fraud. Investigators are collecting statements from the affected villagers and examining any financial trails linked to the collected amount.
