Chief Minister Siddaramaiah Shivakumar announced Karnataka will become a long‑term partner of the Czech Republic and appealed to businesses to expand investments beyond Bengaluru across the state.
Bengaluru, Oct 14 — Karnataka's chief minister Siddaramaiah Shivakumar said the state will serve as a long‑term partner of the Czech Republic, signalling a new phase of bilateral cooperation. The announcement was made during a press briefing where the government highlighted opportunities for joint ventures in technology, manufacturing and renewable energy.
Shivakumar urged Indian and foreign firms to look beyond Bengaluru and set up operations in other districts of Karnataka, citing the state's skilled workforce and supportive policy framework. He said the partnership aims to attract Czech investments that can complement Karnataka's existing industrial base.
The state government plans to facilitate the partnership through dedicated liaison offices and streamlined approval processes, with a focus on sectors where Czech expertise aligns with Karnataka's growth priorities. Officials expect the initiative to boost trade, create jobs and enhance the state's global economic footprint.
