Karnataka to Build Mandapam Like Bharat Mandapam, Land Surveyed in Several Cities, CM Says

The Karnataka government announced plans to construct a Mandapam modeled after the Bharat Mandapam. Officials are scouting land in several cities, and the chief minister outlined the project's purpose.
Bangalore – The Karnataka state administration has revealed its intention to erect a multipurpose Mandapam that will mirror the design and scale of the recently completed Bharat Mandapam in Delhi. The project aims to provide a modern venue for exhibitions, trade fairs, cultural events and large-scale gatherings across the state.
According to the chief minister, a team of officials is currently identifying suitable parcels of land in a number of Karnataka cities. The selection criteria focus on accessibility, availability of infrastructure and the capacity to accommodate future expansion.
The chief minister explained that the Mandapam will serve as a hub for promoting Karnataka's industrial and tourism potential, while also reducing the need for delegating major events to other states. Detailed project plans, including cost estimates and timelines, are expected to be released after the land acquisition phase is completed.
The initiative aligns with the state’s broader strategy to boost investment, create jobs and enhance the state's profile on national and international platforms.
Stakeholders from the tourism, trade and cultural sectors have welcomed the proposal, citing the anticipated economic benefits and the convenience of a world‑class facility within Karnataka.
