Union Minister Kharge has written to the Prime Minister and the Home Minister, warning that Karnataka may be confronting the worst drought in 150 years and demanding central assistance.

Union Minister Kharge has penned a letter to the Prime Minister and the Home Minister highlighting the dire water crisis in Karnataka.

The state is reportedly on the brink of experiencing the worst drought in the past 150 years, with reservoirs at critically low levels and farmers facing severe crop losses.

In his correspondence, Kharge stresses that such a calamity cannot be managed without timely and substantial support from the central government.

He urges the Centre to expedite relief measures, including emergency water releases, financial aid for affected farmers, and long‑term drought mitigation plans.
