Karnataka Chief Minister Shivakumar staged a protest outside the Election Commission of India office in Bengaluru, demanding the filing of an FIR over alleged bulk Form 7 submissions.
On Tuesday, Karnataka’s Chief Minister D. Shivakumar staged a dharna outside the Election Commission of India (ECI) office in Bengaluru, demanding that an FIR be filed against the alleged bulk filing of Form 7s by certain political entities.
Form 7 is a statutory document that candidates must submit to the ECI before contesting elections. The CM alleged that a large number of these forms were filed in a single batch, raising concerns about compliance and transparency.
Shivakumar called for a thorough investigation and urged the ECI to take immediate action. He also warned that any failure to address the issue could undermine public trust in the electoral process.
The ECI has not yet responded to the protest, but officials have said they are reviewing the complaint and will take appropriate steps if necessary.
