The Karnataka education minister has called for the development of digital learning materials in Kannada to enhance accessibility and quality of education across the state.
The Karnataka education minister, Yathindra, announced a push to develop digital learning resources in the Kannada language during a recent briefing. He emphasized that such resources would make education more accessible to students in remote areas and support teachers in delivering contemporary curriculum.
Yathindra highlighted the growing demand for digital content that aligns with state educational standards. He noted that existing materials are largely in English, creating a barrier for many learners.
The ministry plans to collaborate with local tech firms and educational publishers to produce interactive modules, videos, and e‑books. Pilot projects are slated to launch in select schools by the end of the year.
Officials expect that the initiative will improve student engagement, reduce dropout rates, and help Karnataka keep pace with digital education trends nationwide.
