Joy Vaidhavan clinches shot put gold, secures spot at World School Games

Joy Vaidhavan emerged as the champion in the shot put competition held in Mohali, securing the gold medal among his school peers. His victory not only added a trophy to his tally but also fulfilled the qualification criteria for the forthcoming World School Games.

The World School Games, a global multi‑sport event for student athletes, will feature competitors from dozens of countries. By meeting the required performance standards, Vaidhavan has earned the right to represent India on that international stage.

Officials from the Punjab School Sports Association praised Vaidhavan’s discipline and technique, noting that his consistent training contributed to the top‑place finish. The athlete now looks ahead to intensive preparation ahead of the global meet.

The achievement highlights the growing strength of school‑level athletics in Punjab and underscores the potential of young talent to compete internationally.
