J&K Police Seize 11 Dumpers, Book Mining Mafia, Nab One in Kathua

Jammu & Kashmir police announced that they have seized 11 illegal dumpers used for unauthorized stone and sand extraction. The operation was part of a larger crackdown on a mining mafia that has been accused of operating without permits and causing environmental damage. Police officials said the seized vehicles were linked to several illegal mining sites across the state.

In a related development, authorities in Kathua arrested an individual suspected of aiding the mining syndicate. The arrest was made after a tip-off and a subsequent raid on a suspected storage facility.

The police have filed charges under the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act and the Environmental Protection Act. They are also investigating the extent of the illegal operations and the number of workers involved.
