Jio‑BP announced a price increase of ₹5 per litre for petrol and ₹3 per litre for diesel in Rajasthan, effective from the announced date.
Jio‑BP, the joint venture between Reliance Industries and BP, issued a notice that from the specified date the retail price of petrol in Rajasthan will rise by ₹5 per litre, while diesel will go up by ₹3 per litre.
The hike follows a recent adjustment by Nayara Energy, which had earlier raised fuel prices in several states, and reflects the broader upward trend in fuel pricing across the country.
Jio‑BP said the increase is driven by higher crude‑oil costs and applicable taxes, and the new rates will be reflected at all its outlets throughout Rajasthan. Customers are advised to check the updated price boards at pumps.
Analysts note that the additional cost could add to commuting expenses for daily travelers and transport operators in the state, further tightening household budgets.
