A five‑day campaign has been launched across Jharkhand to enrol vulnerable citizens onto the electoral roll, aiming to boost participation ahead of upcoming elections.
The state election authorities in Jharkhand have begun a five‑day outreach programme aimed at registering vulnerable sections of society onto the electoral roll. Mobile registration units and temporary booths are being set up in towns and villages to assist those who lack the necessary documents or awareness. Officials say the drive seeks to ensure that all eligible citizens, especially the elderly, persons with disabilities and economically disadvantaged groups, can exercise their franchise in the forthcoming polls. The initiative will run for five consecutive days, after which a consolidated list will be forwarded to the Election Commission for final verification.
