Former Jet Airways stakeholder Nareesh Goyal petitioned the court for relief, arguing that the CBI has not filed a charge sheet in the loan case even after three years, while the Enforcement Directorate opposed the plea.
The loan dispute surrounding Jet Airways, which defaulted on several financial obligations, has been under investigation by multiple agencies. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) was tasked with probing the alleged irregularities in the airline's loan arrangements.
In a recent filing, Nareesh Goyal, a former stakeholder in Jet Airways, approached the court seeking relief from the ongoing legal proceedings. Goyal contended that despite three years passing since the case was opened, the CBI has not submitted a charge sheet, effectively stalling the resolution of the matter.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED), which is also examining money‑laundering aspects of the case, filed an opposition to Goyal's petition, arguing that the relief sought could undermine the investigative process and the enforcement of financial regulations.
The court has not yet delivered a verdict on the petition, and the matter remains pending as both agencies continue their respective inquiries into the loan defaults and related financial misconduct.
