The Jammu and Kashmir government has approved a scheme offering six free LPG cylinder refills annually to families covered under the AAY program, aiming to ease fuel costs for low‑income households.
On 15 September 2024, the Jammu and Kashmir government announced a new benefit for families under the AAY scheme, allowing them to receive six free LPG cylinder refills each year.
The initiative, launched by the State Ministry of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, is part of an effort to reduce fuel expenses for low‑income households.
Eligible families will be able to claim the refills through their local ration shop, with the government covering the cost of the cylinder and the associated delivery.
