The Jammu & Kashmir administration has announced a fresh composition of the Board of Directors for its trade promotion organization, aiming to boost regional commerce.

The government of Jammu & Kashmir issued an official notification reconstituting the Board of Directors of the state's trade promotion organization. The move comes as part of a broader effort to strengthen the region's commercial infrastructure and attract investment.

The newly appointed board members include senior officials from the state’s commerce department, representatives of local industry bodies, and experts in export promotion. Their mandate is to formulate strategies that enhance market access for Kashmiri products, streamline export procedures, and foster partnerships with national and international buyers.

Authorities indicated that the reconstituted board will meet regularly to assess the performance of existing trade initiatives and to launch new schemes aimed at small and medium enterprises. The government expects the changes to translate into higher export volumes and greater visibility for the state's handicrafts, agricultural produce, and tourism‑related services.

Stakeholders have welcomed the decision, noting that a refreshed leadership can bring fresh perspectives and more efficient execution of trade‑related policies. The board is slated to submit its first action plan within the next quarter.
