The Jammu and Kashmir Police announced plans to conduct 240 sports events across the region this year to engage youth and promote physical activity.
The Director General of Police (DGP) disclosed that the force will organise 240 sports events throughout Jammu and Kashmir in the current calendar year. The initiative aims to channel youth energy into constructive activities and foster a sense of community.
Events will be held in various districts and will cover a range of sports disciplines, encouraging participation from students and local clubs. Police officials said the programme is part of broader efforts to strengthen police‑youth rapport.
Authorities expect the sports drive to improve physical fitness among young people while also contributing to a safer environment by reducing idle time that could lead to antisocial behaviour.
