Punjab police in Jalandhar confiscated two kilograms of heroin, seized cash worth millions, recovered weapons and arrested two alleged traffickers.
Jalandhar police announced a significant drug seizure early this week, reporting the confiscation of two kilograms of heroin along with a large amount of cash and several firearms. The operation was carried out by the city's narcotics control unit as part of an ongoing crackdown on drug trafficking in Punjab.
According to the police statement, the seized cash is estimated to be worth several million rupees, and the weapons recovered include pistols and other small arms. The heroin, valued at a high market price, was found hidden in a vehicle used by the suspects.
Two individuals suspected of involvement in the trafficking network were taken into custody at the scene. Authorities said the arrests are the first step in a broader investigation aimed at dismantling the drug supply chain in the region.
