The Rajasthan police commissioner has ordered nightclubs, bars, hotels and farmhouses in Jaipur to stop DJ music after 10 pm and halt alcohol sales after midnight.
The police commissioner of Rajasthan issued a strict directive for entertainment venues in Jaipur, including nightclubs, bars, hotels and farmhouses. Under the order, DJ performances must cease by 10 pm and the sale of alcoholic beverages is prohibited after midnight.
The measure aims to curb late‑night noise disturbances and curb excessive drinking that authorities say have been affecting residential neighborhoods. Enforcement teams will conduct regular checks and any violation could attract penalties under the state's liquor and public nuisance laws.
Officials indicated that the directive will be in force immediately and that compliance will be monitored through routine patrols and surprise inspections. Venue owners have been advised to inform patrons of the new timings to avoid inconvenience.
The police have also warned that repeated breaches could lead to suspension of licences for the concerned establishments.
