Rajasthan police have detained two suspects linked to a ₹100 crore fraud that promised returns from property and cryptocurrency investments, and have confiscated a Mercedes worth ₹1.25 crore.
Sodala police station in Jaipur announced the arrest of two individuals suspected of orchestrating a large‑scale fraud that lured investors with promises of high returns from real‑estate and cryptocurrency ventures. The police said the arrests were made after a thorough investigation that traced the flow of funds and identified the suspects as the primary coordinators of the scheme.
According to officials, the fraud involved collecting approximately ₹100 crore from dozens of victims across Rajasthan, who were convinced to invest in alleged property projects and crypto‑currency platforms that never materialised. The scheme reportedly used fabricated documents and fake online portals to create a veneer of legitimacy, leading many investors to part with substantial sums.
During the operation, law‑enforcement officers also seized a Mercedes‑Benz vehicle valued at around ₹1.25 crore, which investigators believe was purchased with proceeds from the illegal activities. The luxury car was impounded as evidence and will be retained pending further legal proceedings.
Authorities have urged the public to exercise caution when approached with investment offers that guarantee unusually high returns, especially in sectors like real‑estate and digital currencies, which are prone to fraudulent schemes. The case remains under active investigation, and additional arrests may follow as the probe expands.
