The Jaipur Metro will operate until 12:30 a.m. each night through 11 November to accommodate Diwali celebrations, officials said.
The Rajasthan government’s transport department announced that Jaipur Metro services will be extended until 12:30 a.m. nightly from now until 11 November, aligning with the city’s Diwali festivities. The decision aims to provide commuters with safer, late‑night travel options during the holiday period.
Trains will run on the existing schedule with the added half‑hour, covering all major stations from Mansarovar to Chandpole. Authorities expect a surge in passenger numbers as shoppers and revelers move between markets, temples and residential areas, and have instructed staff to increase security checks and cleaning crews during the extended hours.
Transport officials also highlighted that the extended service complements other city‑wide measures, such as a special traffic plan for market areas, to ease congestion and enhance public safety during the celebrations. The metro extension will be reviewed after the Diwali week to assess its impact on traffic flow and commuter satisfaction.
