The 20th Jaipur Literature Festival will commence on Jan 14, 2027, and organizers have released the inaugural roster of speakers, which includes Nobel Prize winners Esther Duflo and Olga Tokarczuk alongside other international and Indian literary figures.

Jaipur will host the 20th edition of its flagship literary gathering from 14 January 2027, marking two decades of the city’s annual celebration of books, ideas and culture. The festival, organized by the Rajasthan government and local cultural bodies, is expected to draw readers, writers and scholars from across the globe.

The first batch of speakers announced today features a blend of Nobel laureates and acclaimed creators. Economist and Nobel Peace Prize recipient Esther Duflo and Nobel Literature laureate Olga Tokarczuk are among the headline names, sharing the platform with a host of other international authors, scientists, artists and prominent Indian litterateurs.

Organisers highlighted the diversity of the line‑up, noting that the festival aims to foster dialogue across disciplines and borders. The presence of both scientific minds and literary voices underscores the event’s broader ambition to explore the intersections of knowledge, creativity and social change.

With the schedule now public, anticipation is building among attendees and publishers alike, who view the Jaipur Literature Festival as a key venue for launching new works and sparking intellectual exchange in South Asia.
