On Diwali eve, staff in Jaipur rallied to demand the release of pending GPF, gratuity and cash bonuses, submitting a 30-point memorandum to Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.

Government employees gathered in Jaipur on the eve of Diwali, marching from the Secretariat to the state assembly gate to press for overdue financial benefits. The demonstrators, representing various departments, carried placards highlighting long‑standing arrears in General Provident Fund (GPF), gratuity and a promised cash bonus for the festive season.
The union federation handed a detailed memorandum to Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, outlining thirty specific demands. Apart from immediate payment of the pending GPF and gratuity, the note seeks the disbursement of the Diwali cash bonus and settlement of dues owed to retired staff.
State officials have not issued a formal response as of the time of reporting, and the protest remained peaceful, with participants urging swift action to avoid further disruption of public services.
The gathering underscores growing frustration among Rajasthan’s public‑sector workforce over delayed monetary benefits, a issue that has periodically resurfaced in the state’s labour discourse.
Local police maintained a presence to ensure order, while the administration was reported to be reviewing the memorandum.
