Jaipur bans sleeper buses Nov 3-9 to ease Diwali traffic, shifts routes to outer stands

Jaipur municipal authorities have announced that sleeper buses will be prohibited from entering the city between 3 and 9 November, coinciding with the Diwali holiday period, to prevent congestion. The restriction applies to sleeper services operating on the Delhi‑Agra, Ajmer, Tonk and Sikhar routes. These buses will instead operate from four designated outer bus stands located on the city’s periphery. Passengers using these services should be prepared for an additional journey of roughly 20 kilometres to reach the outer stands, officials said. The move is part of the city’s broader traffic‑management plan for the festive season, aiming to keep main roads clear and reduce travel delays for commuters.
